hi hi,
yeps i started back to school. i skipped a year this time, so now i am a freshman. woots! school is actually pretty cool, it’s a lot bigger than I am used to. and it’s going to take me a long time to figure out where everything is. but so far i only been late to a couple classes. my school is bigger but my locker is smaller, what’s up with that?? oh well.
i really like my classes, i have American history, English lit, social studies, applied science, gym, computer lab, and biology. math is a lot harder this year, just knew it would be. but guess what?? the teacher is totally cool and nice, she takes time and explains things. and also she would move on until everyone understands stuff. that’s so cool. computer lac is pretty cool, we are learning all about the parts of the computer, what they all do, and then we will learn about setting up a network, making things wireless, and we get to make a web page!! woots! i can’t wait. that’s going to be fun!
the bad part though is this is a totally new school. and everyone is older and taller than me. all my friends are are at my old school and i only get to see my best friend on the bus and on the weekends now. that really sucks. so i am trying to make new friends. i am pretty good at making friends most time, so far its been hard. like i said everyone is older, and the seniors don’t want to talk to the freshmen. dad told me to keep trying, it’s just going to take time.
mom always told me when i feel down and stuff to talk things out. so i thought i would maybe write some advice about starting a new school and how to make friends. some of this is from me, but most is from dad and jenny.
first off, be yourself.
this is the tough part really, because you want to fit in and you want to be cool like other people. but know what? if you got to change for someone or pretend to like something in order for the other person to like you. it’s so not going to work. people should like you for you. not for something your not. and if they don’t like you thats’ cool, there are lots of people in the world. so there’s going be someone out there.
second, once you find people you like; find out things you have in common. what games they like to play, what movies or tv shows, do they like to read? stuff like that. this has been hard for me this year, with everyone being older. but dad had a great idea i am going to try. look to see what clubs they got at your school. if you find one you like, bet theres people in it that are a lot like you then! I’m going look on the boards at school and also jenny had a great idea. i have computer lab, so maybe i can talk up what i like to do on the computer, talk about slice and dragon page and talk about the forums. or maybe talk about stuff on you tube. might work. yeps!
well that’s pretty much it. just be yourself and find things you have in common. a new school is sometimes scary, but after a while, it can be pretty cool.
Well have to go, hope this helps some. i like school a lot and i love to learn new stuff. so I am going to keep trying to make friends. I think I’m a pretty cool person, so should be able to find new friends. just going take time i guess.
talk at you guys laters!!
