This week I discuss the things other folks said I didn’t get right about parenting. Topics include feeding babies, rolling instead of crawling, bribing your kids, and what not to mix with Slimfast. Thanks to Tim and TJ for calling in!

Hi hi everyone
I been busy doing some checking around and I found some really good things that will help you guys.
I am just now getting into manga, so its new to me. There is a lot of it out there, a lot of it is more for boys then girls too. And dad was sorta right, there are some that have violent stuff in them, but for the most part the stuff at Borders and Barnes and Nobles are for teens and kids. You just have to pretty much take it and open it up and flip though it to see. a lot easier with a book then a anime.
But I found out some really cool stuff. First, there is a Star wars manga out there! Yeps, from all the movies. Kevin would like that a lot. There is a American style manga series of the clone wars books out too.
Another one that is good, is the legend of Zelda manga.

I picked up the one where he is a adult at the convention and it is really good.
My neighbor Totoro is also available as a manga, I think there are four books of it so far. the movie was really good. Read more… »

From the back of the book: “With parents as professors who spend most of their time on sabbaticals following medieval legend, Ellie Harrison has become accustomed to being moved around. On this latest quest for information, they relocate to Annapolis, Maryland. Although Avalon High seems harmless enough, Ellie finds herself in the middle of a modern-day medieval bout of good versus evil. Read more… »

Anyway here you go, this movie has been out since 2004, and it is not that easy to find; I think amazon still has it. This is one of the most incredible things I have ever seen – it is all puppet work. But after a while, you forget that is what you are watching, the plot is that good and very well done.

did find a place selling for a LOT less than i got it for.

I did want to tell you, this has a large war going on between two houses; so there is some violent images. As you can see from the trailer. So you can use your judgement on letting the kids see it or not. Really, if they have seen the Star Wars films, then nothing to worry about here.
Darcy had found a excellent on line review of the movie Strings, thought we would pass it along as well. (They should pay me for all this promoting, lol.)

I was interviewed by Arkle at the Geek of All Trades podcast last week. We had a good talk about parenting, movies, some of the other Farpoint Media shows, and the podcasting community in general. The episode is posted here, and you can check it out! I talk a lot, and sound very Southern – my accent was definitely turned up to 11 in this show!
Warning – Arkle’s podcast is not appropriate for young kids.
Enjoy!

In Memoriam: Joe Murphy
Joe Murphy: 1972-2007
Joe Murphy succumbed to leiomyosarcoma on April 1, 2007. The irony of this is not lost on any who knew him and laughed with him.
Science fiction and (especially) fantasy have always been a part of Joe’s life, whether in movies, TV, or books. After writing a review of Lisa Lee’s and Tee Morris’s Morevi on the original Dragon Page forum, Michael and Evo made Joe the “official” book reviewer for The Dragon Page Radio Talk Show. Later, after moving to Arizona, he became a frequent contributor to Cover to Cover, Wingin’ It, Slice of SciFi and co-host of Kick-Ass Mystic Ninjas.
You can hear a special memorial mp3 at Tee Morris’ Blog.
Please visit http://joemurphymemorialfund.org/ for more information.
Mason Rocket, Randy Innuendo, our Missing Ninja – we really miss you!
