From the back of the book: “With parents as professors who spend most of their time on sabbaticals following medieval legend, Ellie Harrison has become accustomed to being moved around. On this latest quest for information, they relocate to Annapolis, Maryland. Although Avalon High seems harmless enough, Ellie finds herself in the middle of a modern-day medieval bout of good versus evil.

Adding to the mix is A. William Wagner — to Ellie, the most beautiful boy in school. Kind, gorgeous and ready to lend a helping hand to anyone, Ellie is taken by complete surprise when he shows an active interest in her. With him already having a girlfriend, things seem really weird, until Ellie finds out that his girlfriend and best friend are in love with each other.

While being assigned a report on the Lady of Shalott, Ellie realizes that Mr. Morton, the teacher, is way more than someone who teaches for a paycheck. After learning about Mr. Morton and William’s stepbrother’s near-death fight the previous year, all the pieces begin to fall into place, and she uncovers a parallel that shockingly resembles the legend of King Arthur and Sir Lancelot.”

This is a great book, and I am really glad she is still writing. She has finished up the Princess Diaries, which were some of my favorites. In this book, we are introduced to a whole new group of people and I love Ellie. The book has a lot of history in it, not just made up stuff; but actually history! I really liked the whole King Arthur thing, although it took me a while to figure out, oh! so that’s what this is. hehe. I love when a book does that!! I also like learning and finding out new stuff.

Ellie is a lot like most high school girls in ms. talbot’s books, but the one thing she does that not a lot of young adult book writer’s do; she keeps her characters real. She doesn’t stereotype us, the characters talk like teens talk and react like we would react. Avalon High is a lot like a Harry Potter story, it has mystery; a group of teens who work together. There is a LOT of action in this too, it really does keep you wanting to read it. William Wager was the only was pretty easy to figure out who he really was. But still I like how she wrote him, even though i never thought of a boy being “beautiful” before. They said that in Twilight a lot too, hmmmm. Oh well.

I can’t go into a lot of detail here guys, sorry. Not enough time, and also it is way to easy to spoil this book by saying too much. I will say go pick it up and read it! If you have been looking for something to replace Harry Potter, and if you like King Arthur type stories, even those set in modern times. You will love this book a lot. Ms Talbot I hope will always keep writing. She really gets us teens and her characters are really cool, a lot of times you feel; hey I could hang out with people like this. And maybe you are like me, thinking hey this character is sooooo much like this person I know. I think that makes for a good writer, being able to do that.
