Hey guys,
This one is going to be long, but I don’t think you will mind.
Yep I am back again, this time around I am reviewing another old classic. One I have never seen before but have heard about. It is one Jenny said I would love, and seeing how I was really sick all weekend, this one would not only cheer me up, but would really “Wow” me. Jenny have never been wrong yet and she sure wasn’t this time around either.
So it is summertime, and that usually means trips if you can afford it. So let’s take one, you will need a large trunk and you will have to pack for for everything. Where are we going? Everywhere. How long will we be gone? Oh….eighty days.

Hi everyone! This time, I have a whole lot of great voicemails from Gary and Tim about a lot of recent topics. Gary tells us about his gardening experience with his kids, bemoans the popularity of SillyBands, and calls me out on using the kids as an excuse to collect American Girls stuff and Galactic Heroes figures. Then I compliment Darcy on the great batch of stuff she sent the kids for Amanda’s birthday, and let her know I swiped the Girl Genius comic (It won a HUGO!).

After that, Tim discusses what kids are really good for, and thanks Darcy for reminding him of his and Jenny’s first wedding anniversary (Congrats to you!). After I wistfully discuss the oil drilling disaster in the gulf, Tim lets us know of a great opportunity to catch Jacques Cousteau’s great documentary on the oceans, “Under the Sea,” on June 11.
Call or email me if you have any opinion on which video game franchises you think need a break, or just need to die. Wyatt has a rant on this subject that I am going to do a special episode on soon, and we would love your opinions!
Don’t forget – you have until June 1 to nominate your favorite podcasts for a Parsec Award! I’m not eligible, so I’m not asking for me – I’m asking for all those other great shows that you listen to and love!

Stardust – A graphic novel review
Hey guys,
I still have a bad chest cold, but I am still able to give you news on great books to read. This one I am sure everyone knows the story of, or at least has seen the very funny movie that was based on it. But this book is a little different, as all books are from movies. This book brings the novel to life, and really pulls the reader in.
Stardust – the Graphic novel.
A book review by Darcy Low
Stardust is set in the English like village of Wall. It is a quite and humble place. Cobblestone streets, hardy and good people; and then there is the wall that is the border between our world and the world of fairy and gives the town it’s name. The wall itself completely cuts off access with the exception of one small place where there is a gap. The villagers have for centuries set two men from the village to guard this gap at all hours, to make sure no one goes in and nothing goes out. every nine years, though; there is a market day where the gap is open to anyone and the people of our world can cross over and see the wonders of the fairy realm and bring back all manners of magic items and trinkets. The system has worked out very well, with very little trouble for all the years.

Hey Guys,
Got a quick one for you this time around, more will be coming this weekend. Maybe even something I have never done before. Hmmmmmm, maybe.
Some of you may know Rowan Atkinson from the Black Adder series, which is wicked funny. But is geared more towards teens and adults due to the humor. But he also did a tv series where it was just him playing the main character, who seldom talked; but always got into some type of trouble. I am of course talking about Mr Bean. Here are a couple clips you might like.

Funny huh? This reminds me of all those old silent film stars I love like Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd. He takes the simplest things and makes them funny. The TV series is clean and everyone in the family can sit down to enjoy it together. Oh! When you do watch the show, be on the lookout for a little blue car, it shows up time after time and something always happens to it. The best one I saw was the one where he went down to the store to buy a new lounge chair. The car he has is so tiny the chair would never fit into it. (He drive a tiny mini cooper.) Wait until you see how he was able to dive home with the chair, you will be rolling, hehe.

So, what are kids good for, anyway? This week, I attempt to answer that question in snarky, serious, and funny ways. It is getting a little hectic around here with the end of the school year, so I am both venting a little and reminding us all that kids are really great. Gary helps with several voicemails adding what he thinks as well. Then Wyatt has a little rant of his own, discussing the less-than-good quality of most little kid games and movie-tie-in games.

This week I present a couple of cool activities you can do with your kids – tye-dyed t-shirts made easy (see pictures for example and the dye used, SEI TumbleDye, which I got at Hobby Lobby ), and gardening in a pot or a spot! Then we have some voicemails from Gary about Legos and Tim about games and the Nintendo Power Glove. Finally, Wyatt calls in again to give us another Xbox Live update!

Darcy in SPAAAAAAAACE!
Hey guys,
Well I was going to do a review about the Phantom mini series I saw, it was good but way bloody in parts. So I was like, no that’s not good for everyone. So I am trying to stay away from those, rather have something everyone can see and like you know?
So I found this dvd and thought, oh cool another Phantom I can write about. So lets take a trip and get back to being sci fi geeks. Let’s take a rocket ship too…..
The Phantom Planet – A dvd review by Darcy Low
From IMDB – “The mysterious appearance of an unknown planet brings miniature people, giant monsters, beautiful women and undaunted heroes to the screen. The self-contained planet “Rheton” has the ability to move in and out of galaxies to escape their enemies. Earth sends an astronaut team to investigate, which discovers miniature people. One astronaut survives to help them fight off monsters and Solorite attacks.”

Going Green
Hey guys,
Thought I would get back to geeking this time around, and do something for us kids. One thing I totally love to do is read comics. I got my favs, Girl Genius, X men, Serenity, etc. But I also like discovering something new. Or at least something new to me. That’s why when I found this dvd, I thought; “Okay this guy has been around for a long time and I know peeps that like it a lot. I wonder why.” So I got it, popped it in my laptop, and now I am hooked. So this time around, let’s look into a bored test flight pilot who wanted a little more adventure in his life; and boy did he ever find it. This time around I give you…
Green Lantern (first flight) – A DVD review by Darcy Low
From the back cover – “Beware his power. When pilot Hal Jordan accepts a mysterious, powerful ring from a dying alien creature; it transforms him into The Green Lantern. One of a elite force of heroes who patrol the universe to ensure peace and justice under the leadership Guardians of the universe. Unsure of their newest recruit, the Guardians assign Hal to their most honored Green Lantern; Sinestro for training, unaware that Sinestro wants to overthrow the Guardians and create a new order that he will control. It;s a battle of might and willpower as Hal must prove his worth by defeating Sinestro to save The Green Lantern Corps.
Voiced by a stellar cast including Christopher Meloni, Victor Garber, Tricia Helfer and Micheal Madison. This DC universe original animated adventure bursts with action packed shakedowns, showdowns and spectacular visuals as Green Lantern uses his powers and imagination to make the impossible real!”
