This episode, I try to tackle the complicated subject of how to talk to our kids about the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Doug from Alaska calls in at the beginning – I thought his voicemail spoke for itself. This subject is pretty hard, so I mostly discuss what we can do to help our kids learn how not to make the same mistakes in the future.  Please let me know your comments and suggestions!

The web of Titan – by Dom Testa
A book review by Darcy Low

“When the tail of the comet Bhaktul flicks though Earth’s atmosphere, deadly particles are left in it’s wake. Suddenly mankind is confronted with a virus that devastates the adult population. Only those under the age of eighteen seem to be immune. Desperate to save humanity, a renowned scientist proposes a bold plan: to create a ship that will carry a crew of 251 teenagers to a home in a distant solar system. Two years later, the Galahad and it’s crew, none of eighteen; is launched.”

Hey guys,
Well since Ashley and I are in a contest to see who can read the most books this summer, you get to see what I am reading in the order I read it. I am more than likely lose some greek creed on this one, seeing how I never read any of the books until now. But with this version of the first book; I think I might have found a gateway. A gateway into a really cool world full of dragons, lost gods, magic, adventure, and “Wizened thirteen year olds.” This time around, I am going to take you to Krynn. As we discover.

” A dark and perilous time has dawned in a world beloved by fantasy readers the world over. Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman’s realm of Krynn has fallen under the shadow of war, as vile creatures threaten once peaceful citizens. Now, a unlikely band of companions must embark on a desperate quest. Or watch as all they hold dear is consumed in flame.” – From the back cover.

Due to a busy week at our house, and good timing from him with a couple of great long voicemails, I’m going to let  Wyatt have a special long version of his Xbox Live and gaming reviews on the show, this week. He discusses a lot of new games and releases, gives his opinions on some great Vietnam-era gameplay, and then gives a great rant on which game franchises need to take a break or just die. Feel free to share your opinions on this – you may love these games and hate others! Please send Wyatt some feedback, and look him up on Xbox Live – his gamertag is Astrozombie1222 – see the pics below! Then we have a voicemail from Doug in Alaska about a great indie game!

Next, we have a voicemail from Mark with the Tickle Me Plant Company, presenting his great product for kids and plant lovers of all ages. I am familiar with these plants, and think that they are very cool and interesting, especially for kids!  Then, Doug from Alaska calls in to tell us what he thinks kids are good for, and I agree!
